The rain attempted to ruin part 1 and with part 2 we came back even stronger! We kept the theme of vulnerability while adding a touch of toxic masculinity. When Adiasha first brought this topic to the table I wasn’t sure how it would go. Would men feel judged? Would they be willing to share?
Men were very open and honest sharing their fears and how their culture played a role in their definition of masculinity. Mac, our male panelists was front and center assisting attendees in breaking down some of those “norms” and pushing them into creating a definition that is all their own.
As a social worker I couldn’t help but talk about social responsibility and how advocacy can play a role in our healing! Attendees wanted to know what could they do to make changes in their community? How can they pass along the information learned?? It was a good time!
